The Fiduciary and Investment Risk Management Association (FIRMATM) is committed to maintaining strong governance practices that uphold our mission of serving professionals in the fiduciary audit, compliance, and risk management industry. Our governance framework ensures transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct, while supporting the highest professional standards.

Below you will find an overview of FIRMA’s governance structure, leadership responsibilities, and the key documents that guide our Association.


Governance Structure

  • Board of Directors – Elected by the membership, the Board of Directors sets the strategic direction of the Association. Directors serve defined terms and represent the interests of members in advancing FIRMA’s mission.  (Insert link to Leadership)
  • Executive Committee – Comprised of the President, Vice President, and Secretary, the Executive Committee provides leadership and oversight between full Board meetings.
  • Board Responsibilities – The Board establishes FIRMA’s vision, and strategic priorities in alignment with our mission of “Advancing Education, Enhancing Connections.”
  • Committee Leadership – Directors serve as Chairs or Co-Chairs of FIRMA Committees, ensuring committee initiatives remain aligned with the Association’s mission.
  • Management Oversight – The Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer, who report directly to the Board, are responsible for the execution of the training programs and managing day-to-day operations in accordance with Board direction.
  • Annual Membership Meeting – Each year, the Board and Executive Director host a membership meeting to provide updates on Association initiatives, committee activities, and election results.
